Welsh Roots Family Research
Welsh Roots Family Research provides a comprehensive service centred round the counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire. The service also includes research of records and documents held at the National Library of Wales.
I have a first degree in History and a Masters degree in Local History. By using my knowledge, including that of social history, I can provide an insight into the lives of your Welsh ancestors. As family history and local history are linked, research into both areas can reveal the standing of your ancestors within the local community, and how they lived on a daily basis.
Records
There are a number of records and documents available to aid family research for those with Welsh roots. They can offer vital information into the past, and can answer questions such as:
- Were your ancestors affected by serious economic depressions?
- Did your ancestors enter the workhouse?
- What happened if there was illegitimacy in the family?
- Was your ancestor a criminal?
Records available include:
- Civil Registration of Births, Marriages and Deaths
- Census Returns
- Parish Registers
- Poor Law Records
- Court Records
- Criminal Records
- Newspapers
- Wills
- Poll Books
- Electoral Registers
- Trade Directories
